Delphi was of great importance till the end of the 4th century A.C. when it was closed by emperor Theodosius I. Today visitors from all over the world travel to Greece and visit Delphi. Delphi is about 2 hours away from Athens.

Description

Delphi is another famous archaeological site in Greece. It is perhaps best known for the oracle at the sanctuary that was dedicated to Apollo during the classical period. In Homer’s time, it was called “Python” and it was the centre of the Delphic Amphictyony.
